Re: Close order troops defending a placed obstacle
But if the defender is a short distance *behind* the obstacle (less than the attacker's base depth), then isn't the attacker in difficult terrain and liable for any relevant negative combat result, while the defender is not? E.g., my Henrician English Archers put out their stakes and stand less than...

Re: New Battle Card - Inferior
Have I missed something? Are all the Fantasy cards suddenly usable in regular Triumph?
I hope not.

Re: Persian colonists and chalybes
There is mention of "Cabelees" in Armies of the Macedonian and Punic Wars (WRG, 1975) by Richard Nelson. I think that's probably "...Greek and Persian Wars." MAC/PUN is Duncan Head, 1982. They are said to "look like Cilicians" and depicted like this: https://i.postimg.cc/FFTn2Kwv/Cabalee.jpg Minifi...

Persian colonists and chalybes
I'm working to Triumph-ize and fill out my Later Achaemenid Persians, and I had a few troop types I'm not sure best how to represent, so thought I'd come here and seek others' input. Colonist horsemen (Bad Horse): Anything visually distinctive about these guys? Or will they just be slightly larger c...

later Achaemenid Persian archers
I'm working to Triumph-ize and fill out my Later Achaemenid Persians, and while looking for something else, I noted in Duncan Head's (?venerable?) Armies of the Macedonian and Punic Wars that he says "...now [at the time of the Macedonian wars] the bulk of the Persian infantry was now skirmishing ar...

Re: Cool Quotes
Sorry, all -- we've decided that space constraints will prevent this fun. Adding a quote for every battle card would be another full page, and the document is already 65 or 70 pages. We've fought it down from 90 a month ago. But it's fun to read the suggestions. Probably just as well. I hate to be ...

Thanks for the clarifications, David!
And, yes, those snow apes let you down badly, both games. But keep taking them--they may yeti serve you well!

a couple of column questions
Last night DK very patiently helped my brain start returning to Triumph!-normal after a long time away*. He reminded me about one or two specifically Fantasy Triumph rules, as well as that march moves must not pass or end within 8 MU of enemy troops (as well as not start likewise, natch). But two co...
