Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos continued (from Oct 5, 2021)

Weird. I've gone a couple years without seeing anything strange in Meshwesh and now twice in a row... The Kyrenian Greek and Ptolemaic Kyrene list dates don't align with the troop restriction dates. I'm actually amazed that there are so few problems with the army lists. Thanks for all your work on t...

Not an error per se, just strange.

In the Norman Irish list, knights are restricted to the years 1172 to 1292 AD which is the entire range for the list itself.

Re: Questions about Light Foot and Shower Shooting

DK,
Thanks for the clarification. I admit I was thinking of OP's Romans when I asked.

I've paired warband and rabble this way before... with mixed results... It is glorious when it works!

Re: Questions about Light Foot and Shower Shooting

(1): Rabble panic against most close-order foot. If you position your own line carefully, their initial fall-back will take them through the friendly line before they flip and run (fall-back happens first). And this will disorder the enemy line through mandatory pursuit. Yes, you have to do it care...

Re: Scythians vs Medes

I'm curious as to why you shorted the Medes 6 points? Two more stands would have blunted the Skythians' advantage.

(Or maybe I missed something? )

Re: Increased Movement Rate in Fantasy Triumph

So, now I'm curious. What was the thinking behind the change. What considerations made it desirable in Fantasy?

I'm always interested in design processes.

Re: Flanking groups

I've never had a problem with this interaction for a few reasons. Removing a stand doesn't necessarily represent everyone dying, just no longer capable of taking part in the battle. Light troops know that scattering might be their best chance of survival, while heavy troops have a better chance stic...

Re: Triumph on a Square Grid

I would respectfully disagree with the above comments. I think this game would work fine with a grid, but there will be some nuances lost (such as catching an enemy with a zoc to slow them down) which just can’t get duplicated with the grid... Don't get me wrong. You could do it and have fun. I jus...

Re: Triumph on a Square Grid

...Yes, that was my first idea too; chess, but i prefer the Japanese version; shogi. Over rules are good as they are. But the army lists could be more realistic... I agree with you about the shogi army lists. They're too abstract for the historian in me and too realistic for me to ignore them compl...
