Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos

Yet another Wade-Giles infiltrator: the Early Hu have "Jung" allies, who should be pinyin "Rong".

(Yes, "Rong" is the same as the latter half of "Xirong" (W-G "Hsi-Jung"). "Xi" means 'Western' and "Rong" effectively means 'Western Barbarians'. Cf Beidi.)

Re: Vikings as Heroes in the Modern Age

As a historically-interested Scandinavian, I'm somewhat miffed by the appropriation of vikings as symbols for everything from feminism to white supremacy. I don't have a viking army, but I have Orcadian allies for my Scots. The period isn't my favorite to wargame but it's popular locally, perhaps th...

Re: Gaming in Narnia

Jadis's armies included things like wolves, ogres, ghouls, and minotaurs, all of which should be pretty easy to find figures for. Might be harder to find something for the White Witch herself, but there's probably an elven sorceress or something out there that'd do. The Stronghold has a bunch of Nar...

Re: Byzantine Akontistai and Menavlatoi

I believe Forged in Battle Dark Ages kickstarter will be released to the general public at some point this year and I thought I saw a Menavlatoi amongst their Byzantines. As a KS backer I can confirm they've got some in the Thematic range. Spelled "Menulavtoi" to make them easy to find :? They also...

Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos

The Late Imperial Roman East list begins in 325, but Constantine is available with a better manoeuvre rating from 324. (Also, as previously pointed out, Constantius' manoeuvre rating is the same as the normal one, so at least one of the numbers is wrong - guessing that the normal one should be 3, so...

Re: Milvian Bridge 312

In DBA, the Milvian Bridge is supposed to feature Constantine with a Late Imperial Roman army against Maxentius with a Middle Imperial Roman one. I'd assumed it was the same in Triumph!, except the lists would be Late Imperial Roman West and Post-Severan Middle Imperial Roman, respectively.

Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos

In the Konradin list, you get 7-8 German knights, 3 Italian knights, and 2 Spanish knights. Unless there's a negative-cost battle card available, you can't ever take the eighth German element as the minima already add up to 12x4=48 points.

Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos

The Beidi list has "Red Ti fierce fighters" with the tribal name in Wade-Giles: should be "Red Di". Also, since the list only covers the Red Di with subjects, it should perhaps be renamed "Red Di", leaving the other flavours of Di to the Other Early Chinese Border Tribes list. ("Beidi" means "Northe...

MFP Nomad generals

The Nomadic Raider MFP Meso-American list has the general specified as "If Present: Light Foot, Otherwise: Rabble". Neither Light Foot nor Rabble are (otherwise) compulsory, so does this mean one has to take at least one of the types anyway, or can one have a Skirmisher general in an all-Skirmisher ...
