The meaning of the // symbol on army lists

Post by Scott Kastler » Fri Jan 06, 2017 2:48 pm

Hi, I was just wondering about the "//" symbol in the army lists, such as "Knight//Elite Foot". Is it the same meaning as in other games or does it have a different meaning in Triumph? I couldn't find any definition in the rules or the Meshwesh lists (although its quite possible I missed it).

Thanks

That's a temporary (holding) notation marking stands that can dismount.

In the fullness of time that will be replaced by appropriate battle cards denoting stands that can dismount during a battle as a tactical move, or that can dismount pre-battle as part of deployment, depending upon the army list and the historical record. The battle cards will describe rules for those activities; I don't believe that dismounting rules exist in the current rules?

There will be a point cost for those abilities, naturally.
