I do not use any mods to recreate the Battle of Marathon for example.
I saw the photograph of the setup.
Were you able to film the battle? Would be fascinating.
Sadly not had time, I was hoping to put it on at a convention soon.

Re: Hard Copy Battle Cards?

I already do this to adjust for specific scenarios. Hastings, the Close Order Saxon foot cannot go back up the hill with out spending +1 command PIP. Hattin, the Archers are exhausted and out of arrows, so no ranged fire and they cost 3, but in close combat have the same stats. These are not officia...

Re: Defending against Horse Bow

The PIP system is highly underrated in my opinion. It is an extremely elegant mechanism for creating an ebb and flow on a miniature battlefield or in some aspects the illusion of simultaneous movement. Not always in my favor and I have been just as frustrated with it, but I love it. When you look at...

Re: Fall back whilst flanked

People think of Hattin as being surrounded, but as Napoleon would say, "I know have the advantage of interior lines"! or in another words I can shift my troops from one part of the battle to another more easily than you! Which can happen in that battle. The beauty of the PIP command roll in re-creat...

Re: Defending against Horse Bow

"Very interesting battle report. Most ancient rules I've played don't do cool "surrounded" scenarios like this very well. They tend to be much more of a "line up and crash together" type affairs, which is a real testament to the Triumph rules.." Thank you for you kind comments, I am very pleased wi...

And yes Khazar with open terrain is a dream come true. Try some war wagons and artillery against him see how he likes that.

Re: Defending against Horse Bow

A compact or doubled line can be very effective, especially with open order troops. Knights when charging have a tendency to break through an initial line in localized places, but if there is a second line they often find themselves double overlapped. No second line, they can break through and creat...
