Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos

The Timurid list has it's prepared defenses defined as "(only White Sheep) Wagon laager to protect artillery", which looks like a copy-paste error or similar. Hmmm. I looked for this error in the master list and couldn't find it -- I must have fixed it already. That usually means it's time to refre...

Re: Wars of the Diadochi - TTS Mod League

I've fixed the JavCav so you can take two, if you like.

Re: Wars of the Diadochi - TTS Mod League

Cassander here with a couple of questions. Reading the MeshWesh army list for my troops, I see a listing for Greek Jav Cav and Thessalian Jav Cav, each for 1. Yet on the signup inventory there is only 1 Jav Cav allowed. Error in the signup. You should be able to take both, for 2 JavCav total. Also ...

Re: Mounted in Difficult Terrain Tactical Factor - Error?

We were wondering during our recent 'playtest' game if there is perhaps an error in the tactical penalty regarding Mounted in Difficult terrain. :?: Triumph! states a. Mounted stands receive a -1 close combat tactical factor when in difficult terrain. b. Close order foot stands receive a -2 close c...

Re: Terrain definitions

The game is itself pretty simple, but there are lot of specific rules, I think to ensure tournaments are confusion free. Cool. And I appreciate that it is difficult to learn rules in isolation (as we are all, in Covid world), and asking questions in this sort of community is a great way to resolve ...

Optio has rather been on ice for some time as I've been preoccupied with other things (like making a living).
I know whereof you speak. Gaming and game design is fun, but it don't pay many bills.

Re: Acknowledgement to DBA?

Welcome, Justin!

Thanks for the positive review. I'll be interested to see your take when you play in the Biblical thematic areas and when you see the shooting system in play -- which is completely absent in the Roman/Gallic matchup you were looking at!

The Ottoman Empire list has "Djanazan" - should be "Djanbazan".

Also, you may want to retain this as an established wargamerism, but "Iayalars" is technically pleonastic - in Turkish it's one yaya "footman, pedestrian", many yayalar.
Typos fixed. Thanks for the pointer.

Re: Fall back whilst flanked

Alas no, I was 3 in 1981 :) although my dad did teach me to play Stalingrad back in the day. My rules growing up was Warhammer Fantasy Battle, Car Wars, and forwards. About ‘90. Even tried to play Johnny Reb... One thing I’ve noticed amongst many ancients players, is they tend to be a bit older and...

Would the High Priest at Thebes fall under that list too?
Yup. Most of the Third Intermediate Period the High Priests at Thebes were hereditary and independent -- i.e., Nile Princes.
