Re: Roads and Linear terrain

Roads only impact the ability to move through difficult terrain. They are not a terrain piece per say. 14.4 any terrain piece may contain an integral road.... So basically you can model a road through a village for example, the road would allow troops to move along it in column as open terrain movem...

Re: Clarification of Flank Attacks - especially versus supported Pike

There are two ways that B could be on the enemy flank and cause a -1. One is diagramed in section 68.2 and 68.3 this is an overlap contact which does cause a -1 to the enemy. it does not prevent the enemy pike from falling back however. The other is if it was in flank contact as described in 65.3. T...

Re: shooting support

What you will find is mathematically it does not really impact the odds (more shots vs. overlap) in the overall big picture. What it does do is really impact how you deploy stands of archers and also their interaction with infantry formations. We just played a GT battle of Marathon, and the archer f...

Nashcon 2021

We had a great time at Nashcon this last weekend. Brian and I ran Marathon and Hydaspes with amazingly historical results for both battles. Alexanders forces smashed through the Indian mounted and then started flanking the Indian center. The pike engaged in the center and skewered many an elephant. ...

Re: shooting support

No, I think you are referring to something like an overlap shot in DBA for example. However, from your question it sounds like you are referencing two archers having only one target for example? An archer has to have an eligible target to shoot, all shots are made by individual stands. The effect is...

Re: What I don't like

Quality Challenged Cavalry was discussed, but in the end Bad Horse won out.

We find it grows on you, especially when they are some how winning and can temporarily be called "Badass Horse"

Re: Tinkering with TRIUMPH!

Chris, I did take time to read through your comments, thank you trying the game. I would encourage you to get into a live game at Little Wars. We definitely plan to be running Triumph there. The lack of markers and casualties is something I have grown to really like even after being slightly taken a...

Going to Bastion Again

WE are doing a repeat of the Bastion Gaming Center event. Running Hydaspes, the same game we are bringing to Nashcon. Plus some 15mm setup sand demo games. My Son will be presenting a 48 point Fantasy Triumph! game in 28mm featuring Lizardmen vs. Bretonnians (from their earlier period when they look...
