What are These?

I'm going through some old stuff and found these. I want to paint them but don't know what they are. The dudes with the axes I'm guessing are Byzantine, early dark ages, that general time frame but that's just a guess. The dudes with the spears I'm not sure of. Babylonian? That seems really early. B...

Re: favorite armies.

Lusitanians in Grand Triumph! Pair them with their Roman allies for some stability in the middle and they are great. If you like playing light troops with lots of terrain they are a blast. Much better army in Grand Triumph than with the normal 48 pt battles.

Re: Grand Triumph Doubles at Historicon 2017!

Just wondering if there is any idea as to how many teams may be participating in the Grand Triumph tournament?

I'm curious as to how many teams Wendy and I will have to crush to win.

Terrain Question for Grand Truumph

The new Grand Triumph rules say to use the normal Triumph rules except as may be listed on the Grand Triumph rules. Under the deployment section on the first page it says to "1. Place terrain. " Since there are 3 armies is there 1) 3 times the terrain, 2) do we place terrain normally for each comman...

Aligning and Conforming - part 2

As I read my post from "Aligning and Conforming" another question struck me from my previous: Question 4 - Let's say in the set up above the light infantry were aligned to the heavy infantry at an angle - the closest is 1MU from the heavy infantry and the farthest is 2.5 MUs from the heavy infantry....

Aligning and Conforming

I just can't get my head around these topics. Set up - 3 stands of light infantry are facing 3 stands of heavy infantry that are 1.5 MUs away. The light infantry is offset from the heavy infantry (i.e. if the light infantry moved straight ahead they would not be in front to front and corner to corne...

Re: Inspiring Your Troops

I have tried encouragement, cajoling, threats, and harsh language; however, my general continues to roll either a '1' or '2' during maneuver pips. Maybe I'll write on the bases as well. I've also threatened my troops with pink armor but it doesn't seem to matter - they still do poorly. I'm sure it's...

Re: Grand Triumph Doubles at Historicon 2017!

Wendy and I will start planning for Historicon. We will improve on our individual 1-5 record from the Cold Wars tournament (the one victory was when I beat Wendy) to beat the snot out of everyone at Historicon. And to all those we beat - vae victis.

Movement Questions

A couple basic questions that we struggle with: 1. Can an individual unit or group ever move backwards during tactical move? 2. When an individual unit moves per 31.1 it says that a stand can "move in any direction and rotate through any angle". Does that mean that the rotation is measured as part o...
