Re: Name for Fantasy Triumph!
Adepticon and Gencon really are the high end commercial cons. The vendors put a lot into booths and supporting their game systems. It’s overwhelming as a consumer wanspd ring the vendor halls and it builds consumer expectations. If you could come to Apeditocn it would be great. GMs and vendors have ...

Re: Name for Fantasy Triumph!
FWIW the SAGA National tournament has been at Adepticon in Chicago the last 4 years or so. I think FoW has their Nationals there too.
Adepticon has an interesting history as a very successful independently run convention.

Name for Fantasy Triumph!
I was wondering if there had been any thought about coming up with a specific name for the Fantasy version of Triumph! Maybe a name that might be helpful in bringing players over to historical gaming from fantasy gaming. (Recently attending the very successful Adepticon convention in Chicago with +5...

HYW English
For play testing the new archer rules, the HYW English armies do not have anyway to dismount the Knights right now. So for any of the historical battles you'd want to dismount most of the knights. You can then use a historical deployment with the Dismounted Knights Archer - Dis Kn - Archer Archer - ...

Re: New Shooting Rules
I like the change in the shooting rules. Much simpler and quicker. More in line with the game design. It will be much easier to teach. Too much tortured logic to fit into the previous single opposing die roll mechanic as noted above.

Re: Smaller Triumph games, dumb question on
36 to 40 points might work OK in terms of using armies before you get them built up fully with point system (I.e. barbarian armies that might have 16-18 stands.)
Example: 12 stands of Early Franks at 3 points per stand (old DBA army) vs. 12 stand Roman army scaled down to 36 points.

we have decided to change Elite Cavalry to "Good Horse".
Good. Elite might be offensive to some, like its a breed or something.

Re: 48 Point Armies
point system is an attempt to measure a real-world phenomenon that is far more complex than can be measured in buckets Right, just like one 6-1 roll, or one roll of 1 for command points, or 1 overlap can change the outcome of a game. But even this simple linear model is still a big improvement over...

Re: Dacian
I think you will see more and more of this type of activity from people taking their old armies or buying used ones and adapting them to Triumph! What type of activity? I'm now doing that with Prussian, Lithuanians, etc. Getting out the old DBA 2.2/3.0 Prussian army and comparing it stand by stand ...
