Re: Smaller Triumph games, dumb question on

36 to 40 points might work OK in terms of using armies before you get them built up fully with point system (I.e. barbarian armies that might have 16-18 stands.)

Example: 12 stands of Early Franks at 3 points per stand (old DBA army) vs. 12 stand Roman army scaled down to 36 points.

we have decided to change Elite Cavalry to "Good Horse".

Good. Elite might be offensive to some, like its a breed or something.

Re: 48 Point Armies

point system is an attempt to measure a real-world phenomenon that is far more complex than can be measured in buckets Right, just like one 6-1 roll, or one roll of 1 for command points, or 1 overlap can change the outcome of a game. But even this simple linear model is still a big improvement over...

Re: Dacian

I think you will see more and more of this type of activity from people taking their old armies or buying used ones and adapting them to Triumph! What type of activity? I'm now doing that with Prussian, Lithuanians, etc. Getting out the old DBA 2.2/3.0 Prussian army and comparing it stand by stand ...

48 Point Armies

Settling down to seriously build out and convert a large number of armies, I have begun to realize that: 1- 48 point armies can be practically impossible to get to for ceratain combinations of troops types and 2- I should not turn my hobby time into an attempt to get it to come out exactly ( a hard ...

Re: Dacian

DK, Thanks. That question came from a combination of purchasing an army and having picked up the Warlord Hail Caesar Dacian 'sourcebook' at a discount. It would appear that sourcebook (with all of about 3 pages of actual history vs. what I generously call applied history and a really good map) is al...

Dacian

Just double checking on the Dacian list which says it is Ready.

No allies? Legacy and other rule systems seem to indicate Sarmatian allies, other neighbor Germans and Celts.

Thanks.

Re: Bad Horse in 60mm

Very Nice!

Can I make a 'bad' suggestion? When you base them up, you should add some 'horse manure' details so that they have a better claim to being 'bad' horse.

Re: Byzantine List Overlap

Thanks. FYI, the Warhammer Historical Byzantium book by Heine Baekkelund is proving a useful tool. Likely out of print but folks might see it at a flea makret table.

Re: Counsels of perfection ;-)

DK, I think your explanation as to historical uses of the themes is a perfect introduction to that part of Meshwesh. I almost always find myself going into the lists through one of the themes for almost any reason I am grabbing list information. I have a couple of purchased FoG Byzantine and Islamic...
