Re: Close order troops defending a placed obstacle
But if the defender is a short distance *behind* the obstacle (less than the attacker's base depth), then isn't the attacker in difficult terrain and liable for any relevant negative combat result, while the defender is not? E.g., my Henrician English Archers put out their stakes and stand less tha...

Re: What counts? Meshwesh or Supplement 2023.pdf?
Hi, I hope you're all doing well and greetings from Switzerland. We're getting along pretty well with Triumph! sofar (saying a sad good-bye to DBA 2.2+), thank you for the great rule set. Lately I've purchased the hard copy Battle Cards and the Supplement version1 pdf from 2023. But I'm unsure abou...

Re: Close order troops defending a placed obstacle
As Rod says, Portable Obstacles aren't intended to represent true fortifications, but rather things like the ditches at Dara, the spikes at Agincourt, the flooded fields at Kephisos or the Battle of the Golden Spurs in Flanders, ceramic pots dug into the ground, caltrops, that sort of thing. If you ...

Re: Battle cards for Grand Triumph
Some battle cards in Triumph are available at zero cost for the first card. Do armies qualify for 3 zero cost cards for a triple army of 144 points? Mostly that is "per command", Spencer. So if you have a triple Marian Roman army you might get one "Hold the Line" per command for free. Which is 3 of...

Re: What is the measure of a Man? (on a horse)
When converting historical battles to Triumph, I have been making the assumption that a unit of infantry represents twice as many men as a unit of cavalry. My logic is the a man on a horse takes up more space than a man on foot, and that is reasonable to count a cavalryman as 2 creatures. However T...

Re: GT Doubles Tournament at Historicon 2024
There will be a 15mm doubles tournament Friday at Historicon. Teams may take any legal Grand Triumph army (144 points) from Meshwesh. Teams can signup here so we can get a count! For those considering what army they want to field (and possibly, between now and H'con, paint), the tournament will use ...
