Re: Proposed 15mm Sumerian Range (by Eureka)

My 15mm miniature armies collection is very low on biblical era representatives. This being the perfect excuse to order another bunch of minis, I have pledged to buy figures for a Gilgamesh Era Sumerian Triumph! army. Hoping very much this range is going into production.

happy new year,

Providing overlap

A question about providing overlaps: https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TjnO32DorMU/WftAC2NjBmI/AAAAAAAADZA/YG-csJMqs0osI-a6rXmKC73IW-9L9AwrgCKgBGAs/s640/Triumph_overlap_question.JPG C attacks B in three different situations. In all three cases the question is: Does A provide an overlap to C? The overlaps r...

Update of Template for the setup phase of a Triumph! game

Based on my experiences and to reflect the minor changes in version 07 (October 2017) of the Triumph! rules, I have adapted my setup template and named it V 0.4. You can find it here: https://minimaerk.blogspot.ch/2017/09/template-for-setting-up-triumph-game.html#more Any comments and suggestions to...

Forming a column

DBA 2.2 allowed forming a column as a group move: "A group move can include reducing frontage to form such a column (...)". I do not find any reference to the forming of a column in the tactical movement section of the Triumph! rules. I assume that in Triumph! a column must be formed by in...

Template for the setup phase of a Triumph! game

Setting up a game of Triumph! is not a big deal, but for your first few games a scrap of paper and a pencil will come in handy. As an aide memoire and to support the setup phase of the game and for keeping score I have created a small template (half a page of A4). You can find it here: https://minim...

Re: distant shooting arc of fire

Yes, if there is an intervening terrain piece or a stand then I can see your point. Don't take me wrong - your Triumph! rules are very straightforward to apply, don't worry - it was just the minor issue about the "rectangle" that made me inquire. Looking forward to my next Triumph! game wh...

Re: distant shooting arc of fire

Thanks for your clarifications, David! (...) the image didn't come through on my end (...) I have changed the image location - hope it works by now. There is no geometric name for the shape we are discussing (intersection of the rectangle and the stadium), so we used "rectangle" to get the...

distant shooting arc of fire

maybe I'm being finical, yet I see a slight contradiction in the wording of the rules about maximum range of distant shooting and the definition of the arc of fire : 50.1 and 50.2 give a maximum range of 3MU (or 8MU respectively) 51.1 says that "the arc of fire is a rectangular area extending f...

Re: Destroyed if beaten by flanking?

(...) We wrestled with these rules for six months before coming upon the elegant solution of not-conforming -- you only conform if you lose, as part of the losing protocol. Then it is suddenly much much simpler to write the rules, and much more clear for the players. so far as I can tell after a fe...
